Good morning RJ,

The summertime is not over just yet for some Pinal County schools, as a few schools are still getting prepared for the new school year. Coolidge teachers returned to their classrooms to prepare for the first day of school, which is on Monday, July 24.

Speaking of summer, the heat is still causing issues for everyone. For the Valley Humane Society, a broken air conditioning unit at their BowWow Meow Thrift Store is creating big concerns for the no-kill shelter. The thrift store is the shelter's primary source of income and a faulty AC unit is another challenge the shelter has faced this year,

While everyone is looking for ways to stay cool, kids in Arizona City enjoyed giant water slides at the Arizona City Fire District's Summer Water and Safety Days. Throughout the summer, kids got to beat the heat while learning valuable lessons about safety around water and fire.
